About

Rural Family Hope Foundation (RFH) believes that ending global poverty begins with enhancing access to education, and that education is critical to escape chronic poverty and to prevent the transmission of poverty between generations. RFH's mission is aligned to the aspirations of the SDGs and the Africa Union Agenda as incorporated in the Constitution of Kenya (2010), which recognises that well-being is multidimensional. Article 43 stipulates that every person has the following economic and social rights: (a) The highest attainable standard of health, which includes the right to health care services, including reproductive health care; (b) To accessible and adequate housing, and to reasonable standards of sanitation; (c) To be free from hunger, and to have adequate food of acceptable quality; (d) To clean and safe water in adequate quantities; (e) To social security; and (f) To education (Government of Kenya, 2010). The Constitution also emphasizes gender equality, freedom from discrimination, and enhancing the well-being and representation of all vulnerable and marginalized groups.

The primary objective of the Foundation is to undertake an integrated approach in implementing activities and supporting vulnerable families to be more resilient and self-reliant. RFH implements activities that address Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7 and 12.

● Ecology, environmental protection
● Culture and art
● Clean energy
● Sport and physical education

These are implemented in collaboration and partnership with local leaders to ensure ownership and sustainability.
