In 1971, two Australian stevedoring companies amalgamated, and Northern Stevedoring Services (NSS) was born.

We are a private company jointly owned by Glencore Xstrata and Qube. These shareholders bring significant experience from the mining and stevedoring industries to NSS operations.

Headquartered in Townsville, Queensland with operations spanning all of regional Queensland's major Port facilities including Gladstone, Mackay, Townsville, Cairns and Weipa, NSS is best known for what it does—stevedoring and integrated supply chain management for ocean cargos—all in a hassle-free manner.

NSS is the only stevedoring, transport and logistics organisation in regional Queensland. Our approach is integrated, with all supply chain management solutions managed by one company ensuring that you receive cost efficiencies across the entire supply chain.
