The State Department for Diaspora Affairs (SDDA) was established through the Executive Order No.1 of 2023 on the Organization of Government functions to pursue the following strategic objectives: Promote continuous dialogue and engagement with Kenyans; Increase Diaspora savings, investments and remittances; Protect rights of Diaspora and champion their welfare; Increase Diaspora International job placements and enabling technology transfers; Main streaming Diaspora into the National Development Process; and strengthen Policy, Legal and Institutional Frameworks.
