About
Ghana Girl Guides Association, GGGA is a full member of the World Association of Girl Guides and Girl Scouts, WAGGGS (www.wagggs.org). WAGGGS is the world's largest voluntary movement for girls and young women.
Currently, there are more than ten million girl guides from 150 countries across the world. We are open to all girls, whatever their religion, ethnic group, background or challenge. This instils a strong spirit of tolerance and respect for others in the girls.
We represent 28,634 girls and young women across Ghana. For 97 years, Girl Guiding has transformed the lives of girls and young women across the country, supporting and empowering them to achieve their fullest potential and to become responsible citizens of the world.
Our strengths lie in innovative non-formal education programmes, leadership development, advocacy work and community action, empowering girls and young women to develop the skills and confidence needed to make positive changes in their lives, their communities and country, and the world.
There are lots of ways you can get involved with GGGA's work, whether you want to become a partner, join Girl Guiding, volunteer or support us as a donor. Please take a look at our website for more information, www.girlguidesghana.org or send us an email at info@girlguidesghana.org or ghanagga@gmail.com call us at 233302663894
To achieve the Mission and Vision, we have developed two Goals in our Global Operations Plan:
Goal 1: Provide more opportunities for girls and young women to grow and lead.
Goal 2: Empower young girls and women to be agents of change in the world.
The goals will help to ensure our continued work towards achieving our Mission and Vision 2020, and towards the empowerment of girls and young women to understand and speak out about their rights and roles in their communities.
Ghana Guide's Promise:
"I promise that I will do my best: To do my duty to God, to serve my country and help other people, and to keep the Guide Law."
