About
French South African Institute of Technology
F'SATI, the French South African Institute of Technology is a graduate school jointly developed by France and South Africa. The initiative was launched early in 1994 after a visit by President Nelson Mandela to France arranged by the Chamber of Commerce and industry of Paris (CCIP), with the objective of developing a training institute in electronics in South Africa.
F'SATI is a national asset that contributes to the creation of knowledge and the transfer of technology in South African by establishing collaboration with other higher education and research institutes. It has sought to bring greater synergy between South African and French Institutions in the domain of Engineering Studies with a strong emphasis on Mathematics and fundamental Sciences.
The institute is currently based at the Tshwane University of Technology (TUT) in Pretoria and at the Cape Peninsula University of Technology (CPUT) in Cape Town.
