Wapiti Gravel Suppliers, a division of Colas Western Canada Inc. is proud to provide road and parking lot construction services, underground services installation, and civil concrete construction to Grande Prairie and the Peace Region. We are the largest general highway contractor in northwestern Alberta, with more than 200 pieces of mobile equipment in the fleet. Wapiti Gravel Suppliers office, shop and yard are located in the County Industrial Park on the south eastern edge of the city of Grande Prairie.

In business in the Grande Prairie area since 1961, our primary focus is on constructing highways, roads, parking lots and driveways as well as the sale of aggregate materials to municipalities, the forestry industry, the oil and gas industry and the agricultural industry for all types of construction and maintenance in the northern half of Alberta.

Wapiti Gravel Suppliers employs more than 200 workers directly during the peak construction season with the vast majority of our full time staff being from the Grande Prairie area. At least another 150 workers are employed by subcontractors regularly hired by Wapiti Gravel Suppliers in the Grande Prairie area. Each year Wapiti Gravel Suppliers delivers major highway projects that consume in the order of 1.3 million tonnes of aggregate which is utilized to construct granular base course and asphalt concrete pavement.
