About

Our roots go back to 1997 when Murphy's Brewing Company, later renamed the Gahan House Brewery, opened in Charlottetown. The brewery grew over the next 15 years and by 2012, we were ready to expand and that's when the PEI Brewing Company was born.

We now brew and distribute the Gahan line of handcrafted ales along with Beach Chair Lager, the first beer to be canned in Atlantic Canada. We also have a very talented group of brewers who love experimenting with different ingredients and beer styles for our After Hours Series of seasonal beers available throughout the Maritimes.
Our craft beers are diverse, high quality, and full of stories we would love to share with you - just like the Island they're brewed on. Whether you're from PEI and choose our products to support local, or love being able to enjoy a little bit of Island hospitality from wherever in the world you are, thank you for being part of our community.
