EXMAR originated from a small shipyard on the river Scheldt in 1829, evolving into a major industrial wharf by the early 20th century. End 1970's, EXMAR entered the gas sector, beginning with the delivery of its first LNG carrier. During the 1980s and 1990s, EXMAR expanded its gas carrier activities and also entering the LNG and Offshore markets. Today, EXMAR is a key player in the global energy value chain, transitioning from a traditional shipping company to an innovative gas energy provider.
