About
FILMFEST HAMBURG ist ein Festival für das Publikum. Jedes Jahr im Herbst begeistert es über 45.000 Kinofans. An zehn Tagen werden auf elf Leinwänden rund 110 nationale und internationale Spiel- und Dokumentarfilme als Welturaufführung, Europapremiere oder deutsche Erstaufführung gezeigt. Dabei reicht das Programmspektrum in zehn festen und jährlich wechselnden Sektionen von cineastisch anspruchsvollen Arthouse-Filmen über innovatives Mainstreamkino bis hin zu einem bunten Film- und Veranstaltungsprogramm für die kleinsten Kinobesucher·innen.
Als Plattform für kulturellen Austausch und Dialog wird ein Großteil der Filme von den Filmschaffenden persönlich in Hamburg vorgestellt. Zahlreiche Veranstaltungen machen FILMFEST HAMBURG zu einem wichtigen Treffpunkt für Kinobegeisterte und die Filmbranche gleichermaßen.
