CEWE werd in 1961 opgericht door H.C. Heinz Neumüller, uitbater van een kleine fotozaak in Oldenburg, en heeft sindsdien een lange weg afgelegd en verschillende transities in de fotografie met glans doorstaan. Ruim 50 jaar later is CEWE namelijk gevestigd in 24 Europese landen en is het de grootste Europese speler op vlak van foto finishing. Met 3.300 medewerkers in 11 moderne productielabo's print CEWE jaarlijks voldoende foto's om – als je ze allemaal naast elkaar legt – 10 keer de wereld rond te gaan!
