About
The ACO is a voluntary organisation of over 80 professional camera operators working in feature film, TV drama and commercials in the UK. Nearly all of the major feature films shot in the UK are operated by ACO members.
The ACO exists to help promote the technical and creative skills of the camera operator and to emphasise the importance of the role to the integrity of the filmmaking process and the successful artistic and economic outcome of a production.
The ACO intends to provide a forum for discussion about the role of the operator, to provide a knowledge and skills resource for producers, directors and others, and to offer workshops, training and information to its members to enhance their effectiveness.
The ACO works closely with other industry organisations and companies who share a common interest in excellence.
