NYSILC is jointly responsible for the federal three-year State Plan for Independent Living for New York State.
Its mission statement is to advance Independent Living philosophy through the network of CIL's and statewide partnerships by engaging in or supporting research, education, employment, community organization, advocacy, and systems reform.
Its vision statement is to champion of systemic change while promoting opportunities and full participation in all aspects of society for people with disabilities.
