About

The Danish Board Leadership Society, 'Bestyrelsesforeningen' was founded as a nonprofit membership organisation with the mission to develop boardwork and enhance value creation in businesses and to improve framework conditions for state-of-the-art corporate governance and board leadership practices.

The Society promotes its mission through meetings, seminars and conferences and by articulating issues and trends of best practices and boardroom agenda priorities. The society facilitates knowledge sharing and dissemination of research and experienced-based findings within the corporate governance and board leadership field. The society provides direction and support to research, competence development and board training. The Danish Board Leadership Society is open to national and international cooperation with organisations that share the mission of "boardwork for value creation" and the value of insights based on dialogue between the business and the academic world, between directors, investors and professors, between experience and research.

The society was founded by 25 experienced chairs, 10 professors and 8 corporations.
