About

The Glasi glassworks is considered the last of its kind in Switzerland. All products are made exclusively by hand. Products include drinking and wine glasses, wine carafes and water jugs, glass plates and bowls and Christmas decorations. The glass oven remains in operation without interruption and heats the glass mass to about 1500 degrees Celsius. The glassmakers work from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. and remove 2 tons of glass from the furnace every day.

Since 1992 the glassworks has had a museum, which the Council of Europe named "one of the most beautiful museums in Europe" in 1996. At the end of the museum tour, visitors can watch the glass being poured, shaped or blown from a platform of the approximately 100 employees. The first glass labyrinth in Switzerland, a water game and a park with a marble run were subsequently created on the factory premises.
