The Lake Hotel, built in 1820 has a history rich with stories and folklore. In the 1900's, The Lake Hotel was purchased by Mr. & Mrs. Huggard of Waterville and became one of their famous family hotels. The hotel remains in the Huggard Family name today. The Huggards celebrated 100 years in the Irish Hospitality industry in 2013 which marked a big landmark for them in the hospitality industry.
