First developed in the 1960s, Bolingbrook experienced rapid growth in the 1980s and '90s and today continues to attract residents worldwide; it is now rated as Chicago's third most diverse suburb. Bolingbrook prides itself on its "door-to-door" diversity, providing a place to live, work, and play for all. The suburb of around 76,000 residents came in at 48th out of 1,900 communities considered in Fortune's list of "50 Best Places to Live for Families" in 2023 and was recently listed in the SafeWise's "100 Safest Cities to Live in the U.S.".
