Epworth School, founded in 1898, situated on a beautiful, secure 15-hectare campus in Scottsville, Pietermaritzburg (KwaZulu-Natal) is one of South Africa's leading independent schools. It caters for boys and girls in the preparatory phase (Grades RRR to 7) and girls only (boarders and day scholars) in the high school. Leveraging a successful 120-year history of excellence and caring, Epworth is a Christian school with a Methodist ethos.

Epworth Preparatory School is the perfect place for children to begin their journey through life and learning. In the pre-primary section, the environment is carefully structured to enable children from Grades RRR to R to play and learn in the most educationally sound way.

In Grades 1 to 7, the academic programme promotes critical thinking, problem solving and creativity. Lessons focus on developing basic skills, planting a firm foundation for later learning.
