About

Established in 1971 as the Harpers Ferry Historical Association, our not-for-profit organization has provided over $3 million in aid to enhance the interpretive and educational programs of Harpers Ferry National Historical Park and the National Park Service.

Harpers Ferry Park Association (HFPA) is one of over 100 cooperating associations serving the National Park Service (NPS). These associations provide high-quality, NPS-approved publications, maps, videos, theme-related merchandise, and educational programs to help visitors understand the natural and cultural significance of our national parks.

Step back into the past and join us on living history event weekends, special events, and other park programs throughout the year! These events range in topic from the War of 1812 and 19th century farming to Civil War medicine and artillery demonstrations. Living history and historic trades rangers, in partnership with the Harpers Ferry Park Association, offer workshops throughout the year focusing on 19th-century trades and skills. Workshops may include cooking, blacksmithing, tin-making, or gardening.
