We are a life insurer that exists to protect the salaries of all working South Africans from the risk of injury, illness or death through a combination of income protection, disability, critical illness and life cover options.

Formerly known as FMI, we pioneered insurance that pays out as a monthly income instead of a lump sum across illness, injury, disability or death. Entrepreneurship has always been in our DNA. We were one of the first financial services providers to specialise in income protection for business owners and the self-employed market, at a time when only professionals could qualify for cover. The company was founded in 1995, and in 2016 became part of the Bidvest Financial Services group.

Today, as Bidvest Life, we still believe you should protect your income before insuring anything else. We promise to show up for you, your family or your business by paying a monthly income or once-off lump sum when life's mishaps happen.
