Simon Riley provides freelance qualitative research and consultancy as Shore.

Simon has twelve years' experience in qual, most recently as a Research Director in Ipsos MORI Hothouse. He set up Shore in 2010 so he could focus more on his passions of qual fieldwork and analysis.

Simon can deliver the whole qual process, from initial research design, through to guide-writing, fieldwork, analysis, debriefing and post-project consultancy. Simon is equally comfortable leading on a project or working as part of a team.

Simon's experience makes him now a true multi-specialist, having held senior qual agency roles in several specialisms (including marketing, shopper, public affairs and media). He is also a highly experienced advertising development researcher. Simon has a capacity to tune into people from all walks of life and a genuine passion for making sense of contemporary Britain, be it the brands, the media, the culture or the politics.

To understand people's behaviour meaningfully, you have to grasp the patterns of what they are doing, saying and thinking across in as many areas of their lives as possible. Qual research at its best can uncover those patterns - and this is what Simon delivers. He combines a first rate analytical brain with his long and rich experience to deliver consistently outstanding qual to all his clients. He also partners with associates where necessary, for example expert film people and qual software providers, so his clients get the best.
