About
More House School is a registered charity, celebrated as a national centre for excellence in training education professionals, and providing education for boys who are intelligent, but who would fail to achieve their potential within a mainstream environment because of a Specific Learning Difficulty (SpLD), weakness within their Developmental Language profile (DLD), or associated learning challenges.
An independent day and boarding school with more than 500 boys between the ages of 8 and 18 on roll, our students achieve astonishing successes at GCSE and A' Levels, with average results above the national averages. In March 2023 More House School was again graded Outstanding - the highest possible grading - by Ofsted following their double inspection of the school's educational and residential provisions. More House received OUTSTANDING grades for every section of the Ofsted report.
More recently, the school's provision for boarders received routine inspection in November 2023, being judged Outstanding in every category of each inspection report.
Set in nearly thirty acres of stunning countryside on the Surrey/Hampshire border, the school's priority is to build pupils' self-esteem and confidence, so that they believe in aspirational futures and build their independence. The school has a dedicated staff of 180, including experienced teachers and a large therapy team comprising Speech and Language Therapists, Occupational Therapists, and specialist literacy and numeracy tutors.
The school is a member of the Independent Schools Association, the Independent Schools Council and the Boarding Schools' Association, and is recognised by the Council for the Registration of Schools Teaching Dyslexic pupils (CReSTeD) within their Specialist Provision category.
