Tiraspol State University is the legal successor of the Institute of Public Education of Moldova, launched on 1 October 1930 in the former capital of the Moldavian Autonomous Republic.

The primary mission of higher education is to promote student youth, creating intellectual elite. Over 80 years, Tiraspol State University formed its faculties and departments than 60,000 highly qualified specialists who have shown an integral pleadă personalities: men of culture, scholars and academics, writers, famous personalities in culture and education. Along with the training of specialists, university team conducted a fruitful scientific research activity.
