The Association of International Product Marketing & Management (AIPMM) was founded in 1998 to elevate the field of product and brand management from occupation to profession. In the twenty-three years since, AIPMM has literally written the book on product management, built a global reputation for expertise and elite education, and defined the professional role of Product Managers, Brand Managers, and Innovation Leaders.
Product managers (PMs) are generally perceived as highly specialized experts on a single product or product line. This common misconception was historically driven by a dearth of formal PM education programs — which in turn fueled frequent underestimation of the PM role. Product management is a skill set that transcends product, product line, and industry.
AIPMM-certified product managers are masters of process. They are conductors, negotiators, timing experts, specification scholars, and feature-focused product development consultants. Spanning customary corporate boundaries — and leveraging an extraordinary attention to detail — PMs are diplomats who bridge the divide between product specification and market satisfaction.
How does AIPMM certify proficiency in product management? Our programs are founded on — and conducted with — a singular commitment to academic rigor. Our Product Management and Marketing Body of Knowledge® (ProdBOK®) is an in-depth wealth of information on the field, including modules on history, culture, and the principles and practices of product management. Our exams are designed to engage and assess knowledge, understanding, and critical thought.
AIPMM certifications are not given. Our seal of approval means something, and we don't grant it lightly. AIPMM certifications are earned.
