About

Located in the beautiful and rugged hills north of Santa Barbara, California, Mike Carhartt grew up raising cattle and horses on the historic family ranch. In 1996, he and his wife Brooke planted a vineyard along with a dream. Today, with their son Chase, the Carhartts grow grapes and craft wines on that same patch of ground. The principles that guided their great grandfather, Hamilton Carhartt 125 years ago, are still alive and strong in their ground to glass approach to winemaking.

Carhartt specializes in low production wines. We currently produce around 26 different wines, which are released periodically throughout the year. We make in total about 7000 cases which are sold exclusively through our tasting room, wine club, and website. The wine club receives quarterly shipments, some of which are small lots made only for the club. The "Carhartt Cabin" tasting room is located in Los Olivos, CA and offers a unique tasting room experience for those who want to learn more about the wine making process.
