About

Introduction:
Founded in 1992 with the goal of providing specialized cardiovascular care in Dinajpur, Bangladesh,
the Zia Heart Foundation is a non-profit, voluntary, and service-oriented organization. It was
registered with the Dinajpur District Social Welfare Office in 1994 under Registration No:
Dinaj/958/1994. Additionally, the organization is affiliated with the National Heart Foundation of
Bangladesh.
Key Organizations and Initiatives:
1. Zia Heart Foundation Hospital and Research Institute (50 Beds): Established with government
support, this project received a grant of BDT 29.99 million from the Ministry of Social Welfare
between 2002 and 2006. The hospital operates on a 2.54-acre property, with a separate budget of BDT
625.88 million allocated for building and equipment. The project director, Parveen Mehtab, was
appointed by the Department of Social Services. The construction of a two-story hospital building was
facilitated by the Department of Public Procurement. The hospital officially started providing
specialized cardiac care on October 10, 2006.
2. Dinajpur Care Nursing College: Affiliated with Rajshahi Medical University and following their
regulations, this nursing college is managed administratively by the Head of the Nursing College.
3. Care Specialized General Hospital, Dinajpur: This hospital was established as the third affiliate
of the Zia Heart Foundation. It operates across various floors of the foundation's hospital building.
