About

The American Shore & Beach Preservation Association is dedicated to preserving, protecting and enhancing the beaches, shores, and other coastal resources of America by merging science and public policy. We advocate for healthy, sustainable, and resilient coastal systems to sustain four interconnected core values provided by shores and beaches: community protection, a strong economy, ecologic health, and recreation.

We fulfill our mission by:
- Protecting and improving healthy and diverse recreational opportunities.
- Managing, protecting and enhancing environmental resources.
- Encouraging responsible and sustainable economic development.
- Preserving aesthetic values.
- Reducing damage from natural hazards and human activities.
- Mitigating human impacts to natural processes.

ASBPA recognizes that our shores, beaches, and coastal resources provide important quality-of-life assets within reach of the largest possible number of America's citizenry from coast to coast, and along the Great Lakes.
