About
Established in 1987, the AltaMed Foundation serves as the fundraising and volunteer leadership body for AltaMed Health Services, one of the nation's largest nonprofit federally qualified community health centers (FQHC). Since its founding, the Foundation has helped advance the AltaMed mission to increase access to comprehensive health and human services and reduce health care disparities in communities across Southern California. The Foundation, a federally tax-exempt organization under Section 501(c)(3) of the Internal Revenue Service, is committed to maximizing the impact of philanthropic investments it receives through education, community programs and services that proactively address the social determinants of health.
