Methodist education first started in 1891 when the early missionaries in Malaysia set up mission schools. The Methodist Council of Education (MCOE) has continued this tradition of providing an affordable education and a well-rounded education with a strong Christian ethos. Currently there are 7 Wesley Education institutions, that is 3 Wesley Methodist Schools (Private), 3 Wesley Methodist Schools (International) and the Methodist College Kuala Lumpur. They are located in Kuala Lumpur, Ipoh, Penang, Klang, Seremban and Bandar Seri Coalfields.
