About
Who we are
MISSION
The Directorate for European Integration is a permanent, autonomous and professional body of the Council of Ministers of Bosnia and Herzegovina, which coordinates the processes and activities of the institutions in the integration of BiH into the European Union.
Competences of the Directorate are related to the commitments stemming from the integration process, alignment of legislation with the acquis, financial assistance of the EU for BiH, translation of legislation and other documents, and communication and training for various target groups to provide institutional, professional and technical support to BiH integration into the EU.
VISION
The vision of the Directorate for European Integration is a membership of Bosnia and Herzegovina in the European Union, where the Directorate is a relevant, strong and reliable partner to all the institutions in BiH and the EU.
ROLE
The Directorate for European Integration coordinates and monitors the activities and tasks in the process of integration of Bosnia and Herzegovina into the European Union and cooperates with ministries and other administrative bodies in Bosnia and Herzegovina.
The competences are as follows:
® coordination of alignment of BiH legislation with the EU acquis,
® coordination and monitoring of the implementation of the decisions adopted by the competent authorities and institutions of BiH, of the Entities and of the Brčko District of BiH regarding fulfilment of obligations in the process of integration of BiH into the EU,
® coordination of the EU assistance to BiH,
® coordination of the process of translation of the acquis, legislation of BiH and other relevant documents,
® communication and organisation of training on the EU integration process.
