About

Mark Twain International School is proud to be one of the oldest private schools in Romania serving over 600 students from preschool through grade 12. Our two divisions of study, Bilingual (English and Romanian) and International (English exclusively) hold the full Romanian National Accreditations by ARACIP, the full continuum of International Baccalaureate PYP, MYP & DP accreditations while also being an accredited Cambridge International School. MTIS is committed to offering its students a high-performing, yet supportive learning environment, tailored to their individual needs, styles, and goals, that will encourage them to become internationally-minded, life-long learners.

The school's name carries a dual significance. While honoring the American author Mark Twain, it also echoes the steamboat pilot's call of "Mark twain!" signaling safe passage. In this spirit, we guide our students through the challenges of the 21st century, fostering confidence, integrity, compassion, creativity, and a love for peace and humanity.
