About
Kennedy Heights Arts Center was founded in 2004 by local residents who organized to save an historic mansion in an urban neighborhood of Cincinnati from demolition; and 10 years later, partnered with two other nonprofits to transform an adjacent long-vacant grocery store to create a vibrant cultural campus.
Our mission is to enhance the life of our surrounding neighborhoods through arts and cultural experiences that embrace diversity, foster creativity and build community. We create social change through the practice of community‐engaged art, employing art as a vehicle for human interaction and a catalyst for community development.
Serving a very diverse audience of more than 10,000 youth and adults annually, the organization offers art exhibitions, artist residencies, art education programs on our campus and in two public schools, an afterschool jazz academy, public art projects, and cultural events from music performances to festivals.
Kennedy Heights Arts Center is dedicated to making the arts more accessible to everyone. 100 percent of our programs are free or sliding scale, allowing people to pay only what they can afford. We are a member of OF/BY/FOR ALL, a network of arts and civic organizations across the globe committed to equity.
