About
We provide free legal assistance to community members in southern Tasmania who face barriers to legal support. Our services include legal information, advice, representation and referral to other support services. We have offices in Hobart city and Bridgewater and provide outreach clinics to other areas in southern Tasmania.
Our purpose is to ensure access to a fairer and more equitable legal system and we are committed to social justice.
We provide legal education and maintain the Tasmanian Law Handbook, which is an easy-read online guide.
We are an Incorporated Association and independently governed by a volunteer Committee of Management and are receive funding to deliver services through the National Legal Assistance Partnership between the Federal Government and the Tasmanian Government administered by the Tasmanian Department of Justice.
