About
The California Society of Enrolled Agents (CSEA) is the innovative influence and dynamic voice for taxation in California. We strives to empower, engage, and advocate for California enrolled agents (EAs). CSEA is a nonprofit organization serving thousands of enrolled agents, certified public accountants, individual tax preparers and attorneys. The CSEA family includes 19 local Chapters throughout California plus an Affiliate Chapter in Japan. CSEA provides many services to its Members, however the Society focuses on three primary activities: Advocate, Educate and Promote.
Advocate - CSEA represents its Members to all relevant state agencies and the Internal Revenue Service. Throughout the year, CSEA monitors and reviews legislative and regulatory activities, voicing support, concern or opposition on issues that impact the industry through written correspondence, oral testimony and meetings with public officials. While representing Enrolled Agents, CSEA advocates on behalf of taxpayers for sound tax policy and effective tax administration as well.
Educate - CSEA and its Chapters host hundreds of education programs across the state for tax professionals, including its flagship education program, Super Seminar, which supports many other activities. These education programs feature world class training that keeps EAs on the cutting edge and meets standards set forth by relevant licensing agencies.
Promote - CSEA hosts a multi-faceted Public Information & Awareness (PIA) program throughout the year. This program includes an annual Tax Help Day, press releases, online advertising, special events such as a Super Bowl fly-over and regional bus advertising campaign, participation in the IRS Volunteer Income Tax Assistance (VITA) program and appearance at small business events across the state.
