WANEP CÔTE D'IVOIRE

About

The West African Network for Peacebuilding (WANEP) is a civil society organization created in 1998 whose mission is to enable and promote in West Africa:
- the development of cooperation mechanisms between practitioners building peace within civil society and organizations by promoting, with state structures, collective responses to combat the root causes of violent conflicts; -by providing the structure through which these practitioners and institutions can regularly exchange their experiences and information on issues and the influence of policies relating to peace building and conflict transformation;
- and by promoting the cultural and social values of West Africa as a resource for building peace.

WANEP CÔTE D'IVOIRE was created on March 23, 2003. It is constituted in accordance with Law No. 60-315 of September 21, 1960 relating to associations, a new structure common to all peace NGOs active in Côte d'Ivoire. Ivoire, prompted by WANEP, Sub-Regional Network for Peacebuilding in West Africa, whose Regional Headquarters is located in Accra (Republic of GHANA).
