About

Civics and Service International's mission is to improve the lives of children and families who have been affected by war, poverty and discrimination, developing ideas and tools collaboratively with:
• Families and communities
• Systems of education, care and governance
• Government partners
And together, we envision solutions that elevate existing services and empower stakeholders with skills and resources to continue working independently into the future.

Our Vision is that:
• All citizens will know their rights, understand the fundamentals of peace and become active participants in their communities;
• Systems of education, care and governance will be empowered through knowledge, education and opportunities to work for the good of those they serve, independently into the future;
• Government systems will be supported with the tools and opportunities to serve all citizens, giving them the chance to be prosperous, healthy and safe in the place they call home.

Our "LAW+YOU" project is funded by the Open Society Initiative of West Africa. This project promotes a culture of peace by giving school-aged children, out-of-school youth and other vulnerable community members an understanding of the laws, their rights and responsibilities through interactive lessons. In partnership with the United Nations Mission in Liberia (UNMIL), we also host a weekly nationwide "LAW+YOU" Radio show.

The Liberia SCORES Program is an initiative to implement Community Centers across the entire country. The mission is to strengthen families by exposing youth and adults to positive activities that will help them reach their fullest potential.

The Liberia Youth Leadership and Entrepreneurship program provide training, support, and products to youth, allowing them to create their own small business, with the prospect of a safer and more sustainable way to support themselves and their families. Participants include young girls who were formerly trapped in child prostitution.
