About
The American Language Center (ALC) Douala, was created in 1972 by the United States government with encouragement from the Cameroon government to promote the teaching of English in the predominantly French-speaking city of Douala. The United States Information Service (USIS) administered the Language Center as part of the American Cultural Center of Douala. When USIS wound down its operations in Douala in the late nineteen eighties, the language training section continued under private leadership following the demand. The quality of services since then, remain unbeatable and that is why we are still leading within the City of Douala when it concerns English language teaching and learning.
