WHO WE ARE: Credible Science Related to Toxicology

We were founded on the premise that an informed public makes better informed decisions about chemicals found in food, air, water, household products, pesticides, pharmaceuticals and other sources in our environment. Our mission is, therefore, to enhance public understanding of toxicology through access to objective, science-based information on the safety of chemicals and other agents encountered in daily life. Our vision is a public that understands the essentials of toxicology.

We accomplish this by a creating a variety of educational materials available through our website and also by offering occasional public programs. All are free to the public.

The Toxicology Education Foundation (TEF) is a non-profit charitable 501 (c)(3) foundation founded in 1990. A Board of Trustees consisting of toxicologists from around the world with broad expertise in toxicology oversees the creation of content of all TEF offerings.

OUR IMPACT

An early and very successful video project of TEF---"Is It Safe?"--won a prestigious Aurora Award for Best Educational Film that year. Viewers worldwide can now see this YouTube in English, Spanish and Japanese (subtitled) on the TEF website.
