About
The City of Hopkinsville (KY) Department of Parks and Recreation provides athletic and leisure programming and services for this community of 32,000 in west Kentucky's Pennyrile region. The Parks Department was founded in 1965 and has steadily grown in the number of parks and facilities it maintains and offers for the community. The 15 local parks spread over 118 acres include the award-winning Tie Breaker Park athletic fields (5 diamonds), Tie Breaker Park Family Aquatic Center, the Greenway Rail Trail, DeBow Soccer Complex (4 varsity soccer fields), nine-hole disc golf course, 10 playgrounds and six public pavilions. A new dog park and skate park will be added in 2016. Parks and Rec Department offices are located in the Thomas Street Rec Center.
