Slackline Industries was officially launched on October 1, 2014 by the team at Canaima Outdoors Inc., former North American distributor of Gibbon Slacklines. SI President, Ricardo Bottome, states, "Over the past five years our team has worked to take slacklining from a fairly exclusive activity to a mainstream sport. We had so many new ideas for products and programs to continue gaining exposure; it was just time to branch out on our own.
