About
In early 1941, Tod Smolyk was a Funeral Director and Embalmer who desired to open his own funeral home. Lacking funding, but full of drive and confidence, Tod went door-to-door on the 97th street corridor, seeking 12 investors to contribute $100 each for a share in his venture. At one of the doors he knocked on, Tod was met by a young woman named Lucy Kostynuk. Her father had passed, and she had a small inheritance from his estate that she chose to invest into Tod's venture. In the days that followed, she would become his biggest investor, his bride, and the mother of their children.
Over 80 years later, Park Memorial continues its legacy of being family owned and operated, while serving bereaved Alberta families with the highest commitment to compassionate, professional service.
