Ahold Coffee Company is the producer of private label coffee for retailers in The Netherlands and Europe. This company sources all over the world Utz Certified sustainable coffee. In the modern production plant in Zaandam in The Netherlands the coffee is blended and roasted, grounded and packed as roast & grounded coffee, as coffee pads or as whole beans. The history of this company dates back to 1887, when Albert Heijn started a grocer's store in the Dutch village of Oostzaan. Only a few years later, he began roasting coffee in the washhouse behind the store.
