Established in 1962, Bangladesh Sweden Polytechnic Institute (BSPI) stands as a distinguished and highly esteemed technical educational institution within Bangladesh. Originally founded in Kaptai under the Rangamati Hill Tracts through the collaborative efforts of the Swedish Government, it initially bore the name Swedish-Pakistan Institute of Technology. Following the birth of Bangladesh, the institute underwent a transformation and was rechristened as the Bangladesh Sweden Polytechnic Institute.

Nestled across a sprawling campus spanning 30.95 acres, BSPI has cemented its status as a government institute, falling under the purview of the Ministry of Education via the Directorate of Technical Education. The institute's academic programs, overseen by the Bangladesh Technical Education Board (BTEB), comprise comprehensive 4-year (8-semester) Diploma-in-Engineering courses. BSPI boasts a roster of proficient educators, state-of-the-art workshops, and well-equipped laboratories, all geared toward providing an enriching learning environment.
