Qingdao university of technology is a multi-disciplinary university which focuses on Engineering, coordinately develops with Science, Economics, Management, Literature, Law and Art, and distinguishes itself by Civil Engineering, Mechanical Engineering and Environmental Energy. It pays attention to both scientific education and humanistic education.
The school was founded in 1952. QUT comprises 13 academic colleges and departments. It has 60 undergraduate majors, 18 first-level disciplines authorized to confer master's degrees with 6 categorical master degrees and 16 professional master's degree authorizations, 2 first-level disciplines authorized to confer doctoral degrees with 2 centers for post-doctoral studies. Civil Engineering is deemed the first-level discipline of Shandong province.The university owns 39 national and provincial key disciplines, laboratories and engineering research centers, including the Efficient Use of the Resource of the Metallurgical Slag of the National & Local Joint Engineering Research Center, the National & Local joint engineering center of urban sewage treatment and recycling (Qingdao), the Departmental and Provincial Joint Key Laboratory of Industrial Fluid Energy Conservation and Pollution Control, Ocean Engineering Research Center for Environmental Concrete Technology, etc. There are 1 national "111" intelligence bases and 1 Shandong collaborative innovation centers.
At present, there are 30428 ordinary students in this college, 1840 full-time doctoral students and 1840 master's degree students.
