Opened on March 1, 1892, Mahinda has been known as one of the first Buddhist schools Sri Lanka. Founded by Colonel Henry Steel Olcott, Mahinda is renowned for her long history of unparalleled brilliance among Sri Lankan educational institutes.
As a humble result of blood, sweat and mind of thousands of Mahindians, including the legendary principals such as Bowles Daley, Frank Lee Woodward, FG Pearce and EA Wijesuriya, Mahinda's mixture of diverse identities is enormously unique.
