Electra Afikim Ltd. was founded in 2008, as part of Israel's transportation sector reform, which allowed privately held companies to compete in operating transit service lines across the state. A subsidiary of Electra Group, Afikim grew to become one of Israel's most prominent public transportation companies, with over 1,100 buses, 1,700 employees and 60 million customer rides annually.
