The Dispute Resolution Ombudsman Limited, incorporating The Furniture & Home Improvement Ombudsman and Rail Ombudsman provides alternative dispute resolution (ADR) for the rail, retail, furniture and home improvement sectors.

Our vision is to inspire consumer confidence, raise industry standards and resolve disputes without the need for costly litigation. We are neither a consumer champion nor a trade body. We operate independently to ensure fairness in every case. with the aim of building a bridge between both sides, to resolve disputes and reach the right resolution.

We're totally independent which means we can be trusted to help reach an agreement that is fair for both parties.

We are not-for-profit, meaning that our mission is to provide a service, not distribute profit to shareholders.

The Furniture & Home Improvement Ombudsman – Established in 1992 by the Office of Fair Trading we are recognised by the European Commission, are full members of the Ombudsman Association and affiliated with the Trading Standards Institute to resolve customer disputes with over 5,000 furniture and home improvement outlets in the UK including leading furniture retailers and manufacturers. www.fhio.org

Rail Ombudsman – Following the Government's manifesto pledge in May 2017 to "introduce a passenger ombudsman to stand up for the interests of rail users suffering a poor deal" the Rail Ombudsman was established in November 2018 to provide the UK's first rail ombudsman service. We provide alternative dispute resolution services to raise standards and improve customer service across the rail industry. www.railombudsman.org
