In our efforts to ensure food security, we are driven with one thing in mind: "If there isn't enough on the farm, there will not be enough on the table"

At Hemam, we are committed to contributing our quota in fixing Nigeria's fragmented food systems, recognizing that activating the potential of rural smallholder farmers – who grow over 85% of the nation's food – is key to increasing food production in Nigeria.

Our commitment to this cause is matched by our ability to forge significant partnerships with leading agro-industrial food processing companies, making Hemam a top supplier to agro-industrial giants such as Dangote Group, Flour Mills of Nigeria, Olam, Lafarge, Slabmarks Groups, Grand Cereals, and many more.

Through our programs, we help farmers increase their yields, reduce losses, and access markets for their surplus grains, in exchange for a very minute portion of their harvest.

Over the past 7 years, our efforts have increased the average yield of farmers who onboard our support program from 1.5 to 4.5 tons per hectare.

We have supported over 30,000 rice, maize, and soybean farmers in Kaduna and Kogi states, enabling the production of over 130,000 metric tons of grains, and generating over 27 billion naira in economic value for the farmers we support.

Hemam's story is a unique one. What had started as a small startup with a modest seed capital of 2.5 million naira in 2015, is now at its growth stage, generating revenue of over 6 billion naira in 2023.

Our target is to support 1.5 million rural smallholder farmers in Africa to produce over 7 million tons of food annually and to trade 10 million tons of commodities by 2040.
