About

Siaya Institute of Technology (SIT) is a Public Technical and Vocational Training (TVC) Institution managed by
the National Government of Kenya through the Ministry of Education under the State Department of Vocational & Technical Training. It is situated in Siaya
town next to Siaya Medical Centre and 300 metres from The Siaya County Referral Hospital. It was established in 1987 by the District Development Committee
(DDC) Siaya, as a community initiative, to train students in technical skills in areas of Masonry, Plumbing, Agriculture and Business courses.
Over the years, the Institute has invested heavily in infrastructural development to meet the demands of an ever-increasing student population, rapid technological
advancement and changes in TVET subsector reforms and market trends.

The Institute offers a diverse array of courses examined by Kenya National
Examinations Council (KNEC), Kenya Accountants and Secretaries National
Examination Board (KASNEB) and Curriculum Development, Accreditation
and Certification Council (CDACC).
Our intake periods are January, May and September of every year, we offer Diploma courses that run for three years, Certificate and Artisan Courses run for two years respectively and additional short courses. Our fees are standardized for all courses (KNEC Courses - Ksh. 56,420 per year, and between Ksh.5,500 and Ksh. 4,000 for short courses) and we also help our needy applicants/intakes to apply for government capitation, HELB and other sponsorships avenues to cushion them financially during their learning process. Prospective applicants can apply for a course and get their admission letters online and we also have an e-learning portal to assist students to access learning materials virtually.
