About
Today, a change in energy model is required in Africa for reasons of energy sovereignty, equity in access to energy services and requirements for contributions determined at the national level for climate change and for the achievement of Development Goals.
However, the zone is faced with a favorable momentum to seize. On one hand, the United Nations initiative for access to modern energy for all (SE4ALL) demonstrates the international desire to place access to energy services at the center of investment priorities, and to make greater use of renewable energies and energy efficiency to support low-carbon development efforts. On the other hand, the development of markets for technologies and equipment appropriate for the poorest customers is accelerating rapidly.
