BURS enables the fair payment of taxes, facilitates trade and manages borders for the development and security of the people of Botswana. The tax revenue that BURS is responsible for comprises customs and excise duties, Income Tax, Value Added Tax (VAT), Capital Transfer Tax and other government levies.
BURS is made up of seven Divisions: the Office of the Commissioner General, Customs & Excise, Internal Revenue, Human Resources, Information Technology, Internal Audit and Legal Services
